A Point About Price-Points I Want To Point Out!

If you read my book or articles here, you will find clear, concise, readable language without excess verbiage. This stems from history’s great writers, the King James Bible translators, Daniel Defoe, Shakespeare, who brought into English, bold, clear words and cut excess verbiage.

A period of 19th-century English literature had flowery, ornate language. But this trend got clobbered by, “The Elements of Style” by E.B. White & W. Stunk, and others like George Orwell and Ernest Hemingway.

Luckily for anyone who ever picked up a newspaper or book in the English-speaking world, these great writers, like the clear, direct writing of Hemingway, or the verbiage assassin E.B. White, actually had a huge influence. College writing professors really pushed these guys, and to this day, most professional journalism is readable. Media news, while I won’t speak for the content, at least has OK English.

But… my point point for this article: Is one of the few good things about life in the English-speaking world now going to hell? Every time I see a YouTube article or read a review about something… People are not just saying ‘price’, everyone is saying, ‘Price-point’– adding, ‘point’ after price. Just what the fuck does adding ‘point’ to price add to anything except for excess verbiage?

This trend point is driving me nuts,  point! Otherwise intelligent people are adding this bullshit point all the time. Why point? What the fuck point does it add to anything point except an extra meaningless point word that I am sick of hearing all the time. Point! Shut up with this point all the time! Got the point point?

And what is the price-point of this article? It is price-pointless!
